We are pleased to announce that we will be upgrading you from our Cyberjaya Data Center in Malaysia to a newer and better data center. This new Data Center is located a short distance away from the current Cyberjaya Data Center. It comes with better facilities, power as well as bandwidth. With this new facility, we will be able to provide improved uptimes and bandwidth availability compared with before.

To facilitate this move, we'll be conducting a one-time migration exercise for all our customers. We have prepared a 6-hour maintenance window period for this purpose. Please kindly note that the migration will be conducted on the following date and time:

Date: Sunday, 11 April 2010
Time: 00:00hrs - 06:00hrs (MYT/Malaysia time, GMT +0800)

There will be no IP address change to the servers. All the servers will be using the same IP addresses in the new data center facilities, after the migration.

During the maintenance period, all servers and network equipment will be physically dismounted and migrated to the new location. For co-location and dedicated customers' servers, we will need your kind cooperation to shutdown the servers prior to migration.

Please find below the server migration procedure:

(1) At the scheduled time, all customers will shutdown all the servers.
(2) We will move all the servers and our network equipments to the new data center.
(3) We will mount and boot up all the network equipments and the servers.

During the maintenance period, we will need you to shutdown your server(s) before we dismount and migrate the server(s) physically to the new location. You may shutdown your server(s) between [00:00 to 00:15 hrs MYT]. Please shutdown your servers before [00:15 hrs MYT] since we will start powering down and dismounting all the servers at [00:15 hrs MYT]. We expect the whole process to take approximately 3 hrs but have scheduled a longer maintenance time to cater for unforseen circumstances. If you wish, you may also request for us to shutdown your server(s) for you. If this is the case, please provide us with the necessary root or Administrator password for us to login to the server, and shutdown the server. Please also let us know if you need us to start any processes upon booting up your server(s). You will need to provide us with the password prior to the migration.

Nature of maintenance: Network maintenance.

Description of maintenance:

Our upstream provider in Malaysia will perform a network maintenance, affecting the network connectivity to our Kuala Lumpur data center facilities in Malaysia. Only connectivity from local Malaysia network is affected, international connectivity will not be affected.

During the network maintenance, traffic will be redirected to other available links.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused.

11 January 2010, 11:00hrs - 16:00hrs (extended until further notice)

We will need to do an *URGENT* migration of all the servers and network equipments in Shanghai, China to a new and better data center facilities.

During the urgent maintenance period, all the servers and network equipments will be physically unmounted and migrated to the new location. We have prepared a 5-hour maintenance window period for this purpose. The urgent maintenance will be conducted on:

Kindly be informed that there's a need to change the IP address of your server(s). For us to help you in changing the IP address of your servers during the migration, we would need to have root/administrative access to your server. If you prefer to change the IP address yourself prior to the migration, please do let us know and we shall get for our China engineers to contact you and liaise with you directly for the arrangement.

This maintenance exercise will only affect network connectivity to our Cyberjaya data center in Malaysia. Connectivitiy to our Kuala Lumpur data center and our other data centers in other countries (such as Singapore, Hong Kong, etc) is not affected.

During the maintenance window period, customers might expect some intermittent downtime and latency on the network connectivity to their servers hosted in our Cyberjaya data center facilities. There will be no total downtime throughout the maintenance window period.

Update on 8 September 2009:

As scheduled, our power vendors have conducted the UPS maintenance last Saturday (5 September 2009). However the UPS maintenance exercise could not be completed within the stipulated maintenance window period. Therefore, a second phase of the UPS maintenance has been scheduled in our Singapore data center facilities, to complete this exercise.

We will be migrating our Hong Kong data center racks to another data center facility. There are two main reasons for this migration. Firstly, the current facility in Chai Wan has limited further room for expansion. Secondly, because of the space constraint, our landlord is increasing our space rental cost by 100%, a large chunk of which would have to be passed on to you, our customers. Given the factors above, we decided on this migration. The migration exercise will be conducted on:

Kindly informed that there will be no IP address change to the servers. All the servers will use the same IP addresses in the new data center facilities, after the migration.

Please find below the process of the server migration:

(1) At the scheduled time, all customers will shutdown all the servers.
(2) We will move all the servers and our network equipments to the new data center.
(3) We will mount and boot up all the network equipments and the servers.

During the maintenance period, we will need you to shutdown your server(s) before we unmount and migrate the server(s) physically to the new location. You may shutdown your server(s) between [2200 to 2215 hrs HKT]. Please shutdown your servers before [2215 hrs HKT] since we will start powering down and unmounting all the servers at [2215 hrs HKT]. We expect the whole process to take approximately 2.5 hrs but have stipulated a longer maintenance time to cater for unforseen circumstances.

If you wish, you can also request us to shutdown your server(s) for you. If this is the case, please provide us with the necessary root or Administrator password for us to login to the server, and shutdown the server. Please also let us know if you need us to start any processes upon booting up your server(s). You will need to provide us with the password prior to the migration.

As part of Webvisions' ongoing effort to provide better quality services to our customers, we will be launching our new bandwidth monitoring service called CACTI to replace our current MRTG server, for traffic utlisation monitoring for all our dedicated and co-location customers' servers.

The new system provides our customers the capability and flexibility of viewing past 5mins sample for the bandwidth utilization. It allows the users to be able to select the desired duration for the bandwidth utilization to be displayed by manually selecting the date/time/duration.

Description of maintenance:

As part of our Singapore data center expansion and upgrade exercise, the first stage of migration will be conducted on:

Date: Sunday, 3 February 2008
Time: Between 12am midnight and 6am

The migration exercise is conducted in several phases for minimal downtime. On 3rd Feb, we will be moving several network equipments to a secured location in the new data center wing. This maintenance exercise will only affect network connectivity to our Singapore data center. Network connectivity to our other data centers such as Malaysia, China, Hong Kong etc will not be affected.

During the maintenance window period, customers may experience some intermittent downtime and latency on the network connectivity to their servers hosted in our Singapore data center facilities. There will be no total downtime throughout the maintenance window period.

Nature of maintenance: Network maintenance

Description of maintenance:

We have received a note from our Australia counterparts that they will perform an urgent network maintenance in one of our data centers in Sydney, Australia. They will be migrating the network setup to some new racks. Please note that all servers affected will need to be shut down for the duration of the migration.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you, however this necessary measure must be taken in order for us to continue our operations and to better our services in the future.

If you currently have your login details on file with us, there is no need to worry as our technical staff will perform the soft shutdown for your servers.

However if you do not have login details with us on file, you will need to provide us with login details or make sure to shut down your server before the scheduled downtime. Failure to do so will result in a cold shutdown of your server.

Please let us know if you have any special applications on your server that may be affected, we will start these applications for you once your servers come back online.

Description:
Migration of core and distribution switches, servers and all network peripherals to new racks.

Impact:
We currently anticipate 2-3 hours of downtime, your servers will need to be shutdown.

Servers affected: HORAE and dedicated/colocation servers hosted in our Kuala Lumpur data center facilities. Servers hosted in our Cyberjaya data center facilities are not affected.

Services affected and how long : Approx. 30 minutes

We will be performing urgent network maintenance within our Singapore data center facilities. We will be upgrading the IOS of our core routers, and also inserting new modules on the routers to cater for growth.

Customers might expect some intermittent downtime and latency during the maintenance window period.
