FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Webvisions and WorldPay Offer
Complete E-Commerce Solutions Across Asia Pacific
SINGAPORE, 3 July 2001 -Webvisions, a leading hosting provider in Asia, today announced that it will offer its customers one-stop E-Commerce solutions from WorldPay, a global leader in multi-currency secure Internet credit card payments and E-Commerce solutions across the Asia Pacific region.
Through this partnership, Webvisions will provide secure end-to-end E-Commerce solutions to customers with WorldPay's secure, multi-currency Internet credit card processing and integrated E-Commerce solutions. This relationship also allows Webvisions to offer its voluminous customer base of over 12,000 SME-sized companies an integrated E-Business start-up or upgrade package that spells savings of rates of over 25 per cent.
"We are committed to value-adding our customers' Internet experience with the same unparalleled time-to-market speed that our customers already enjoy," said Roger Lim, CEO of Webvisions. " WorldPay's global reputation for reliable fraud protection, quick time-to-market delivery and award-winning E-Commerce technology made it the best choice for our partner in large-scale E-Commerce enablement in this region."
Webvisions' customers will also benefit from WorldPay improvements such as substantially reduced time for risk approval and the WorldPay Guarantee introduced in January 2001, which protects businesses from transactions involving any lost, stolen or fraudulently used credit cards. "Webvisions' tremendous Asia-Pacific customer base and its market dominance in the SME segment makes it a natural choice for our WorldDirect and Multi-Currency solutions said Adam Kerr, Director Business Development of WorldPay-Asia Pacific. "We're confident that this partnership will allow us to leverage on mutual synergies to develop our core markets together."
According to IDC, Internet commerce will accelerate to US$5 trillion in 2005, fueled by nearly one billion global Internet users, or 15 per cent of the world's population. By 2005, the balance of Internet users will completely shift, with Asia-Pacific rivaling Europe for the most Internet users while the United States slips to third place. E-commerce growth in all regions will be healthy, but Asia-Pacific and Western Europe will accelerate the fastest between 2000 and 2005.
